![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now seeing this pattern right before the first dialog, I can see plenty of DirectX calls just before loading the string for the first dialog. I'm guessing that it somehow determines the memory issue around where it figures out that it doesn't recognize my graphics card. I found one interesting looking API in OllyDBG though: it seems that after the first message box alerting me about my card not being detected, the game loads some resources from its local files, then throws up the second memory error message right away. anyone cares about changing the features of 'ol'chap Tiger Woods? It looks a little overweight, lately.Īfter running OllyDBG again, I realized I still don't really know what I'm doing in there, so I got a program called API Monitor v2 which is a little easier for me to understand :) of next release ans is not compatible with anything before, so follow these instructions:Ģ) extract the archive in a separated folder (so that files don't mix)ģ) run the new DxWnd and allow for admin privilegesĤ) import the exported "Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08 Demo.dxw" fileĥ) change paths according to your game installation (I assume that the demo and full game are not so different)ħa) turn off logging for sake of your HD and set everything else according to your tastesĨa) post a "hurray!" here and wait for next stable and official releaseħb) grab the dxwnd.log file in the game folder, compress and upload it hereĨ) post a "oh, nooo!" here and wait for a fix. Ok, here in attach there's a debug DxWnd release together with the TGA08 demo import file that should manage the problem. I guess my question is, has anyone experienced problems with certain textures becoming black or disappearing, and how can this be fixed? I'll be able to see mostly everything, but oddly, the ground textures will be black or missing. I decided to do windowed since hopefully that would fix the issue - and when I use the "Primary Buffer" DirectX emulation mode, it sort of does fix the black screen problem. So far, it does good with aligning the mouse in windowed mode. I found that alt-tabbing out and back in would fix this for the session, but it does take awhile to do, so I was hoping I could fix that with dxwnd. Usually though, when I play a course (or when 3D rendering kicks in), the entire screen would be black, sounds still playing. So I installed it into a Windows XP virtual machine, and it worked ok. ![]() I can't run it natively (on Windows 8.1) because the game immediately reported that I didn't have enough video memory (I do). I am so glad to have found this program - there are several older games I can think of that I've always struggled to get working, and this looks like the answer.Ĭurrently, I'm playing Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08 (by EA Sports), and it doesn't seem to work so well, at least while I emulate it in VMWare. ![]()
